Match Report
Wellington College 1st vs  RGS, Guildford Boys-U18A
On: Saturday, 17 Nov 2018
Venue: at Home

Saturday 17th November and the first shoulder to shoulder match, a home fixture against the old nemesis RGS Guildford who have been on top form this year.

The main event is the team of VIII shooting on British Match 10 bull cards but there are also Reserve Pairs matches for both experienced and new shooters plus a novice singleton shooting as the Reserve.

As usual Jemima Hince and 2 other strong shooters opened for Wellington with the better of the RGS team. Not much in it after they had shot and the next group took to the range. Still very little in it with only the last 2 of the VIII to shoot, all eyes were on telescopes relaying progress shot by shot until a hiccup by RGS, a couple of stray shots into the eight ring were all it took for Wellington to claim yet another victory, 10 years unbeaten on the home range, an impressive record.

Scott Murray (L) and Max Heeschen (Bl) easily won the senior pairs whilst Egor Marey (R) and Natasha Murrin (Ap) tied for the junior pairs. The Reserve, Josh West (R) shot a fine score on the cadet 5 bull target and equalled his opponent who although a novice came from the RGS 6th form, he was not best pleased to be held to a draw by the much smaller statured Josh.

A great afternoon for Wellington shooters and top score overall for Sophie Hodge (W) who has been hitting high scores regularly of late.
