Match Report
Wellington College Mixed-U18A vs  Harrow School Boys-U18A
On: Thursday, 22 Nov 2018
Venue: Away

Our polo squad also faced Harrow on Thursday afternoon, but no fear of a frozen pitch due to the excellent arena surface at Emsworth Polo Grounds.

Starting with the A team, Ned Hine, Jakob Samonig and newcomer William Drewitt faced up to a strong Harrow team. Over the three competitive chukkas that followed, Ned, Jakob and Will displayed some excellent teamwork and had to work hard against the Harrow boys despite their number 3’s best efforts to outplay them all. Ned set things off with an excellent double point goal, scoring outside of the 30 yard line, and Will joined Ned on the scoreboard with his first goal for Wellington (a great way to celebrate his birthday!). Jakob followed suit with a goal in the second chukka keeping Wellington ahead on the scoreboard. The boys went into the third chukka 8 goals to 5 and continued to work together as a team forcing Harrow into making fouls. Three more goals courtesy of Jakob, one for Ned plus a Penalty-One saw the final result 12-7. A fitting win for a new and promising team.

No handicap difference.

Chukka 1: 5-3 (Hine x4, Drewitt)

Chukka 2: 3-2 (Hine x2, Samonig)

Chukka 3: 4-2 (Samonig 3, Hine)
