Support our Equestrian Team on 11th May!

On behalf of the Wellington College Equestrian Team, I would like to invite people to come along to the Royal Windsor International Horse Show on Saturday 11th May, as the following riders: Ella Evans, (capt), Gus Crewdson, and Imogen Reed (with Tash Turner as reserve) will be competing in International Uniformed Services Show Jumping class in the Castle Arena, and it would be fantastic to get some support for them at this huge event! If you are able to get away after sports commitments, Windsor Horse Show is an awesome afternoon out in its own right- with plenty of discounted shopping, incredible food stands and activities for everyone (Land Rover extreme driving experience anyone?), so promises to be a worthwhile venture!

The format is usually a fairly early first round (usually before 11am) but then in the afternoon all military competitors (including our cadets) parade to salute The Queen, and the top 6 teams select one rider to jump off in front of a full grandstand and the Royal family for final placings. The Queen then does the prize giving personally! We have been in the final for the last few years, coming team 2nd and having the best U25 rider last year, so we are hoping to do just as well this year!

It is a really fantastic day and a very proud moment for those riders lucky enough to be there, it would be really great for them to have some of the Wellington College community there for support.

Please let me know if you plan to attend all or some of the day. There is a code I can give you to purchase adult tickets at a discounted price (£24). Under 16’s are £17 on the gate and under 3’s do not need a ticket.

Best wishes,

Emma Poynter
